Walsenburg is located in southwestern Colorado, approximately 150 miles from Denver. It is named after an early settler Fred Walsen. Walsenburg is tied to Wild West lore with former resident Robert Ford identified as the man who killed Jesse James. Walsenburg is also the home to a number of Recreational marijuana dispensaries.
