Telluride was a former mining town established in 1878. The Native American Ute tribe were the first to inhabit the area. Butch Cassidy and his Wild Bunch Gang started their bank robbing careers by robbing their first bank in downtown Telluride. Telluride is 420 friendly with both Medical and Recreational Marijuana dispensaries.
